Uday Hakim was born on 25 March in 1975 at Bardhanpara village under Mirzapur Upazila of Tangail District. After completing HSC from Dhaka College, he obtained graduation and post-graduation degrees in Mass Communication and Journalism from University of Dhaka. Uday Hakim then started his career as a journalist and worked 12 years in national Bangla dailies including Prothom Alo, Amar Desh, Kaler Kantha, Channel I and TV channel CSB news.

Uday Hakim joined Walton Group in 2010. He is now working as Executive Director of the country’s electronics giant Walton. He is the founder editor of country’s one of the leading news portals risingbd.com. Uday Hakim is now playing the role of Advisory Editor for the popular news portal.

From his childhood, Uday loves to write and travel. He has already traveled over 30 countries and wrote a lot of travelogues. Till date, Uday Hakim is the author of seven published books. Among them, ‘Sundari Jelekonna and Rohossomoy Guha’ (The Beautiful Daughter of Fisherman and the Mysterious Cave), ‘Rohossomoy Adam Pahar’ (Mysterious Adam’s Peak) are most noteworthy.

He is also a lyricist and presenter of popular music show ‘Tribeni’. Famous Indian-Bengali singer Nachiketa made an album with songs written by Uday Hakim.

He is also a part-time lecturer in the Journalism, Communication and Media Studies Department of the State University. In addition, he is a member of several organizations like The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Dhaka Reporters’ Unity, an associate member of the National Press Club and Tangail Press Club, etc.
